Take A Bath

I love baths. I mean, they are wonderful. Sit back in nice, warm water to soak all your cares or worries away. Ahhh...just thinking about it makes me want to take a bath.

Are you looking to enhance the relaxation? Here are a few ideas to help you out:
  1. Put the kids in bed (or lock the bathroom door and deal with the devastation later).
  2. Light some candles and turn out the lights.
  3. Leave your phone somewhere else.
  4. Refuse to listen to the voices in your head telling you that there are things to be done.
  5. Add some essential oils to your bathwater.

Essential oils are commonly used for aromatherapy. True essential oils have health benefits that fragrance oils do not; so they smell wonderful, but will also work wonders for your mood.

A few of my favorite essential oils are:
  • Eucalyptus-used to clear respiratory tract and refresh the body and mind
  • Lavender-relaxes the mind and soothes irritation
  • Sweet Orange-balances skin and the emotions; can increase photosensitivity
  • Peppermint-cooling to the skin and emotions; clarifies the mind (avoid during pregnancy)
Add a few drops (10 is max!) to the running water. Be sure to swish around to mix well before getting in the tub. Sitting on undiluted essential oils floating on the surface will not feel nice!

Enjoy!

What do you do to relax?
